Taize Prayer Service Wednesday February 20th 7 p.m., Clare Oaks Chapel

Violinist Jennifer Silk is joined by colleagues cellist Wendy Cotton and flutist Carlyn Lloyd for this ecumenical meditative prayer service that incorporates song and chant, Scripture readings and silence.  The service begins at 7 p.m., with welcoming music shortly before it.

This event is being sponsored and hosted by the Clare Oaks Retirement community, in the Chapel located at 825 Carillon Drive in Bartlett, Illinois. The next service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20th.

As the candles are lit and through singing simple chants, the mind is quieted and the heart is opened. The belief is that healing is a grace that connects us to life in God. Taize services foster reconciliation and peace among all people and this is done by welcoming all faiths so everyone will feel at home.
