I voted for the 1st woman president – AND SHE WON!

I just read an article in today’s Chicago Tribune about women leading orchestras in management positions.  It was a very empowering article by Mark Swed of the Los Angeles Times.  Unfortunately, he didn’t mention that on Sunday, November 13, 2016 that Terryl (Terry) Jares became the first woman president of the Chicago Federation of Musicians Local 10-208!

Please join me in wishing Madam President Jares best wishes and good fortune in the years ahead.  Go Terry!!terry-jares-madam-president-2016

When Women "Band" Together – why I love my show, "A Day in the Life of a Strolling Violinist"

On Wednesday, April 6th, I had the honor and privilege to perform my one woman show, “A Day in the Life of a Strolling Violinist” for the Arlington Heights Women’s Club in the Hendrickson Room of the Memorial Library. Women’s Clubs such as theirs are so supportive of women, children, libraries and many other philanthropic organizations. Keep in mind that a women’s club is not a “girly” thing – you never want to underestimate the power of a woman!  The AHWC is such an inspiration for me with all that they have done and continue to do to improve themselves and their community. To top it off, one of their members took the time to write this – ”

“I always thought you gave a wonderful program but this exceeded my expectations by 150%.  You were great in performance, energy, stories, knowledge and more.  The ‘girls’ really did love the program.
Thanks a billion.”
