There is a saying, “practice makes perfect” that has been preached by many a music teacher. As it applies to yours truly, I am more used to “playing” and leave the “practicing” to doctors and lawyers…lol
This year I will be instead investing time into my many loves – violin, viola, piano, singing and yes, my beloved accordion. What? Yes, I love my accordion and all due to a great teacher. Haven’t you heard that the BEST accordion teacher in the world is at A&A Music Academy in Hanover Park – Don Komorski is 80+ years young and a fabulous teacher and musician!
Being an adult student of any musical instrument has it’s challenges and one of them is time management. At one of my first lessons, Don gave me a time management chart and without judgement, I was to write in EVERYTHING I was doing – including “I don’t remember” and “I don’t know”! I NEVER had a teacher say anything or do anything about time management other than, “you need to practice more” and I of course have and still say the same thing to myself and my students but now I say it with what Don taught me.
So here is my gift to you – Strings of Silk Music Time Management Chart – Enjoy!
